In 1968, Pastor Lee Barry and the late Cecil Lewelling, Sr. joined forces to start a youth football program. When the idea began, Cecil stated that he could get the kids but did not have the funds for the equipment. Mr. Barry said that “if you get the kids, I’ll get the equipment.” Mr Lewelling went door-to-door recruiting youths to play on the first football team. Mr. Barry kept his word and supplied all new uniforms and equipment to suit up 25 kids. So, in 1969, the Taneytown Tigers took the field as the first youth football team in Taneytown. In 1970, the cheerleaders were introduced and coached by the late Jeannette Lewelling. Mrs. Lewelling made all of the cheerleading outfits for the first few years. Now, over the years, the league has expanded and changed from the Taneytown Tigers to the FSK Jr. Eagles Football and Cheerleading.
FSK Jr Eagles Football & Cheer is associated with the Taneytown Athletic Association and Carroll County Recreation & Parks
